Annemarie + Brett | Charlotte, N.C. Engagement Photography

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Annemarie and Brett are the kind of couple that radiate with love for one another. Their engagement session was truly one of my favorites to date.

Their photo session took place on a beautiful fall day on their simply idyllic property. We grabbed a picture for their save-the-date card under a gorgeous golden tree along an old wooden fence in their yard.

I couldn't help but feel jealous once I saw their lake-front backyard! It's the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic or a glass of wine after a long day. I felt honored to be able to capture such an important milestone in their love story.

Pair a really good looking couple with so many picturesque locations, and I only ran into one minor problem... Narrowing down which photos to include in this post!

The Whalen Family | Charlotte, N.C. Family Photography

I photographed the Whalens on a perfect autumn evening, complete with beautiful fall colors at their peak.

The Whalens were hoping to update their family pictures and to capture a special photograph for their holiday card. I think it's really important to take the time to update family photos at least once a year -- especially of young children that change and grow so fast.

We had a great time during the Whalen family shoot and I must say, I was most impressed with how easy going and sweet the boys were with one another. They made my job very easy!

Newton Family | Belmont, N.C. Family Session

Friday, November 8, 2013

I was lucky enough to photograph the beautiful Newton family a couple of weekends ago. Michael and Brandy are both super talented photographers with a business of their own, so I was especially anxious about capturing images that they would love.

As a photographer, I fully understand how strange it can feel to be on the other side of the lens -- but the Newtons were total troopers. My favorite location of their shoot was an old abandoned home in the Belmont area. I'm especially in love with the family shot of them all hanging out while Michael "Newt" was playing the guitar.

They're such a good looking bunch of people, so I had a hard time narrowing down which images to share here. Below are some of my favorites.

Sarah & J.J. | Charlotte, N.C. Engagement Session

Wednesday, November 6, 2013

Sarah and J.J. are such a sweet couple and we had a blast during their engagement shoot. Sarah just so happens to be my sister-in-law and her and J.J. were in town visiting from Wisconsin.

It meant the world to me that they asked if I would take some engagement pictures for them. I think that their love for each other shines through the photos.

I especially loved the light and feel of the shots that we took under a willow tree next to a pond.

As if we weren't already having a great time at the shoot, we topped it off with hot apple cider donuts and fresh brewed hard cider. Could there be a better pairing?
